Contracts should be received within 30 days of school board approval, beginning May 1st. Our contracts are electronic, so you will receive an email to log in to TalentEd and electronically sign your contract.

If you are on a 192-day contract or less, your first payday will be September 19th. You will receive 12 equal checks on or before the 20th of each month. Because our fiscal year ends on June 30, you will receive your June, July, and August paychecks on June 19, 2026.

Certified staff can request a salary advance, which is an $1,800 check received on August 20. There are no taxes or insurance withdrawn from this check. If you choose to receive a salary advance, $150 will be withheld from each of your monthly checks (12 x $150 = $1,800). The salary advance is a paper check, and you will need to pick up your check at the administration building on August 20, as direct deposit will not be active until September.

The two days of New Teacher Orientation on August 3rd and August 4th are in addition to your 192-day contract. You will be compensated at your daily rate of pay for these two days. Please complete the time sheet provided at New Teacher Orientation on both days. Compensation for these two days will be added to your September check.

For health insurance, the coverage begins the first of the month following your contract start month if you complete enrollment form the month you start on contract. (Example: You begin work on August 7, health insurance will be effective September 1). For other insurance coverage (dental, vision, etc.), the coverage begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment. (Example: You begin work on August 7, insurance will be effective October 1). If you are coming from another district within Arkansas, please let us know as it may be able to transfer and you will not have any gaps in coverage.

The District provides long-term disability insurance for all employees who work more than 20 hours each week. Short-term disability is an additional benefit that may be purchased by the employee who works more than 20 hours per week.

Yes, if you previously worked in another Arkansas public school, you may transfer the balance of your sick days, up to 90 days from your previous school district, to RPS. The process is to request this information on district letterhead from your previous school district and then scan and email it to our RPS Benefits Coordinator, Marisol Serafin (marlsol.serafin@rpsar.net), or hand-deliver it on Monday, August 3, at New Teacher Orientation.

Employees on a 192-day contract receive ten sick days each year. Four days of the accumulated sick leave may be used each year for personal business leave, which is defined as personal business that can be taken care of only during the school day. The district also allows for unlimited accumulation of sick leave at the rate of one day per month of contracted time. Days accumulated will be paid according to the substitute salary schedule at the Class II level (currently $120) at the time of retirement.

According to Polley JFAA, children of full-time Rogers Public Schools employees who live in Arkansas may attend school in the district where the parent lives or the district where the parent is employed.
District employees may apply for their children to attend in the building where they are assigned or at a school that is within the feeder pattern of the employee, if space is available and does not require the hiring of additional staff. The student may continue in the feeder pattern of the employee or school selection unless there is a change in employment location or the employee chooses for their student to attend their zoned attendance area.If you have questions regarding transferring your child, the appropriate contact is listed below:

Classified employees may request a salary advance, which will be issued as a paper check on August 20. No taxes, insurance premiums, or other deductions will be withheld from this advance. Because direct deposit will not be active until September, you must pick up the check in person at the Administration Building.
If you choose to receive a salary advance, the amount received will be repaid through payroll deductions from your monthly paychecks beginning September 20.
Salary Advance Options
- Employees working 30 or more hours per week:
Advance amount: $1,200
Repayment: $100 deducted from each monthly paycheck for 12 months ($100 × 12 = $1,200) - Employees working fewer than 30 hours per week:
Advance amount: $600
Repayment: $50 deducted from each monthly paycheck for 12 months ($50 × 12 = $600)

Health insurance coverage begins on the first day of the month following your contract start date, provided you complete your enrollment forms during your first month of employment.
Example: If your first day of work is August 7, your health insurance coverage will become effective September 1.
Coverage for other benefits, such as dental and vision insurance, begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.
Example: If your first day of work is August 7, your dental and vision coverage will become effective October 1.
If you are transferring from another Arkansas public school district, please let us know. In some cases, your insurance coverage may transfer, helping you avoid a gap in benefits.

Yes. If you previously worked for another Arkansas public school district, you may transfer up to 90 unused sick days to Rogers Public Schools.
To transfer your sick leave, request documentation of your sick day balance from your previous district on district letterhead. Once received, please scan and email the documentation to our RPS Benefits Coordinator, Marisol Serafin, at marisol.serafin@rpsar.net.

Most employees receive 10 sick leave days each year. Up to three of these days may be used annually for personal business leave, which is intended for matters that can only be addressed during the workday.
The district also allows employees to accumulate unused sick leave without limit at the rate of one day per month of contracted employment. Upon retirement, accumulated sick leave is compensated at 50% of the employee's final daily rate of pay, up to the maximum amount allowed under the Class II Substitute Salary Schedule (currently $115 per day).

According to Policy JFAA, children of full-time Rogers Public Schools employees who reside in Arkansas may attend school either in the district where their parent resides or in the district where their parent is employed.
Employees may request for their children to attend the school where they work or another school within their assigned feeder pattern, provided space is available and the placement does not require the hiring of additional staff. Students may continue attending within that feeder pattern or school selection unless the employee changes work locations or elects for the student to attend their zoned school.
